Hi there! Thank you for stopping by! I am originally from Palo Alto, CA, went to college at the University of Arizona and have lived in the Northwest since 2002. Despite all the rain, I love it here and when the sun is shining, I’m convinced that there’s no more beautiful place on earth. I’ve been married to my best friend since 2003 and am blessed to be a mother to 3 beautiful and crazy sons.
Images from my sessions capture connection, emotion, and interaction – with the occasional “smiling and looking at the camera” image for good measure. Natural expressions trump forced smiles, in my book. I do all I can to bring out natural smiles without specifically asking for a smile. I like to think of my photography as a reflection of your real life and family relationships, just a little prettier. At your session we’ll talk, we’ll move around, I’ll ask you questions, we’ll play games and you’ll do what you do best – be yourselves and love on each other. All this combines to create dynamic images that are a true representation of you – images you’ll cherish.
My qualifications and experience in the photography world all combine to help me provide you with heirloom images and go beyond traditional sessions. I am a photography mentor, instructor, and teaching assistant with the the largest online photography forum and I am the author of a photography e-book called Mood & Light: Creating and Enhancing Emotion in Your Images (available here). I am well-versed in handling newborns and taking the extra precautions necessary to keep your newborn safe and comfortable. As a mother of 3 young boys, I’m very experienced with the antics of small children and don’t shy away from the action that children bring to a session.
On a personal note, I have a talent for learning foreign languages. I’m fluent in Spanish and Norwegian and have studied multiple others. I may or may not read dictionaries of Swedish verb conjugations for fun.I graduated from the University of Arizona (Bear Down!) in 2002 where I double majored in Political Science and Spanish (with a minor in Humanities, just for fun). I’m also a HUGE football fan. I play Fantasy Football every year and I wish football was a year-round sport. My favorite color is orange. My favorite season is fall. They go hand in hand.I am a nerd at heart and I have a tendency to over-use smiley faces.
I look forward to getting to know you better and collaborating with you to create images that will be a true representation of yourself and your family. Get in touch with me at firstname.lastname@example.org or 360-910-1719 to book your session today!
